Angela De Venuto, Soprano
Chicago native Angela De Venuto received her Bachelor of Music degree from DePaul University. While there, she had many opportunities to explore a wide range of operatic repertoire.
As a concert soloist, Angela has performed works ranging from Vivaldi, Handel, and Scarlatti to John Cage and Thomas Pasatieri.
During the Summer of 2014, she trained in the Advanced Artist Program with Opera Works.
The June 30th performance marks Angela’s first appearance with the Northwest Festival Orchestra and second performance under the direction of Maestro Schwager.
Lindsey Baer, Mezzo-Soprano
Pennsylvania native Lindsey Baer is active as a singer, accompanist, and instructor. While living in Erie, Pennsylvania, Lindsey appeared in opera roles including Hansel in Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Grete”l, Dorabella in Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutti”, and First Prioress in Poulenc’s “Dialogues of the Carmelites”, and in concert oratorios ranging from Mozart’s “Requiem” to Rutter’s “Magnificat”.
Regionally, she has appeared with the Illinois Philharmonic, Apollo Chorus, DePaul Community Chorus, Wright College, University of Chicago, Peninsula Music Festival, Salt Creek Chamber Orchestra, and the Northwest Festival Orchestra.
Jonathan Zeng, Tenor
Tenor Jonathan Zeng, making his first appearance this evening with the Northwest Festival Orchestra, is equally at home in opera, musical theater, and oratorio and has performed throughout the United States. He has appeared with the Cincinnati Opera, Opera Illinois, Memphis Symphony, Jackson Symphony, CCM Philharmonia, and Western Illinois University Orchestra.
An avid proponent for arts education, Jonathan performs for Cincinnati Opera Outreach initiatives and teaches general music. He holds a BA in Music Education from Western Illinois University and a MM in Voice from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
